Roquefort-les-Pins, the pleasure of feeling at home
A Saturday morning begins with a simple plan: pick up some bread and prepare lunch. Then you stop at the market, choose a few flowers and fall into conversation. Someone suggests coming over later. There will be a few more places at the table than expected.
This is often how affection for a village grows: through encounters and small routines that make life enjoyable.
The homes of Roquefort-les-Pins invite you to imagine just such a life. A shaded terrace, a garden claimed by the children, a room opening onto trees. You arrive to view a property and begin picturing Sundays, holidays and friends staying for the weekend.
Local addresses that become part of your life
Good local shops make a difference, and Roquefort-les-Pins has many. Here are just a few of them.
For an impromptu dinner or a special occasion, Maison Julou combines catering, charcuterie and a wine selection. At the Galeries du Beaumon, Terra Vinum – Ma Nouvelle Cave offers another address for choosing wine. On the Place du Marché, L’Étal du Poissonnier sells fish, seafood and prepared seafood dishes—useful ingredients for an evening around your own table. Florists include Roni Fleurs, on the market square. For interiors, AB Décoration, the local showroom connected with Aurélia Bouchenino’s interior design practice, provides a place to find inspiration and discuss a project. Together, these businesses contribute to the pleasure of making a home your own. Sources: Roni Floral Design, AB Intérieur
For meat, there are artisan butchers such as Boucherie des Pins at Le Beaumon and Provence Boucherie at Le Rond-Point. Nearby, the greengrocer Vert Tendre takes daily deliveries of fruit and vegetables and makes up baskets to order. Everyday shopping is supported by Intermarché, Les Comptoirs de la Bio, bakeries and other food shops. Markets take place in the village centre on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, and at Notre-Dame on Thursdays. You can arrive with a shopping list or simply see what inspires you. And on evenings when nobody feels like cooking, the village has plenty of tables; to name a few: at Heaven, a pub-restaurant with a British accent, people gather on the terrace over a beer, a burger or a Sunday roast, often to music. Indra serves Indian cuisine, Sushi Factory makes sushi and poke bowls to eat in or take away, and Complices offers more refined French cooking. Room for children to grow
For families, a home becomes especially valuable when children can find their own place in the community.
Local schools and Collège César form part of that setting. The collège offers an international English-language section with a separate selection process. Nearby, the international lycée in Valbonne has six international sections, each subject to its admission requirements. Sources: local schools, Académie de Nice, Valbonne International Campus
Beyond the classroom, the village’s community music school offers early musical discovery, introductions to instruments and individual instrumental lessons from age six. A first tune on the piano, a guitar gradually becoming familiar, the enjoyment of playing with others: these experiences become part of childhood too. Holiday programmes cater for nursery and primary-school children as well as teenagers. The autumn 2026 programme includes a sports week featuring racket sports, outdoor activities and climbing, with activities dependent on the programme and registration. Source: municipal announcements

It might become a place to improve your game, try something new or simply meet friends each week.
There are quieter ways to enjoy local life as well: a walk, a visit to the library or a film at Le Pavillon Bleu cinema. They give each household different ways to shape its week. Source: municipal cultural facilities
A forest on your doorstep
In Roquefort-les-Pins, nature is not a long drive away: it often begins at the end of the lane. Pines, holm oaks and garrigue shape a landscape made for a morning walk, a run before work or a weekend bike ride, with the dog trotting alongside.
Behind the Collège César, the Parc naturel départemental du Sinodon unfolds its forest tracks and footpaths across gently rolling ground, through holm oak woods, Aleppo and maritime pines, scrubland and clearings. Three waymarked loops, from 1.5 to 2.1 km, can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback, and dogs are welcome on a lead. Sources: Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Tourism, Sortir 06
For longer outings, the municipality offers seven waymarked hiking routes, many following old mule paths; one leads down towards the Loup, and another follows the Via Aurelia, one of the routes of the Way of St James. Sources: municipality, hiking guide
A historic golf course next door
Just nearby in Opio, on the Route de Roquefort-les-Pins, the Golf d’Opio Valbonne, which many locals simply call “le golf de la Bégude”, lays out its 18 holes across a protected 220-hectare estate, shaded by century-old trees that hide a Gallo-Roman aqueduct. It is one of the two historic golf courses of the South of France. Source: Opio Valbonne Golf Resort
Around the course, the Opio Valbonne Golf Resort brings together the Château de la Bégude, a 39-room hotel, with its brasserie, spa and swimming pool. Ideal for lunch after a round, or for friends visiting from afar to stay close by. Source: Opio Valbonne Golf Resort
Practical services for life throughout the year
Healthcare matters when choosing somewhere to settle. Local practitioners and pharmacies are complemented by the out-of-hours medical centre and medical imaging practice. The municipality states that both remain open during extension works intended to accommodate more specialists. Source: municipal medical centre update
Roquefort-les-Pins also sits close to Sophia Antipolis. For those travelling further afield, the municipality gives an indicative journey of around thirty minutes to Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, depending on traffic and the starting point. These connections help make a leafy residential setting compatible with a mobile working life. Sources: village presentation, access information
A musical story behind the trees
The village has an unexpected musical connection. Michael Hutchence, the voice of INXS, had a house here. His family remembers a place where he wrote, cooked and welcomed those close to him. Source: family recollections
Andy Gill describes spending several months working with Hutchence on his solo album at the house, where they set up an improvised studio. Part of the project released in 1999 therefore took shape in Roquefort-les-Pins. Source: Andy Gill’s account
There is something touching about picturing a world-famous performer here, creating music and sharing ordinary moments with family and friends.
The value of a home you enjoy living in
Shops, schools, activities and services all add substance to a property decision. They help you consider the life that will surround a house, week after week.
PAP’s property indicator shows a 20.8% increase over five years as at 1 September 2026. Combining recorded sales and listing data, it is a market reference rather than a forecast; recent fluctuations also underline the importance of choosing the property carefully and paying an appropriate price.
